About us

THE MOGHIYA EDUCATION PROGRAM

Tiger Watch EABJM is affiliated with the Moghiya Education Program.

The Moghiyas have been called a "criminal" tribe, considered to be at the center of all poaching in and around Ranthambhore Tiger Park. Tiger Watch along with the CID realized in 2005 that the only way to solve the poaching problem would be to develop alternate means of livelihood.

The Moghiya Education Program attempts to bring together children in a hostel equipped with basic needs as well as a TV so they can be exposed to the developments of the outside world. The children are provided with uniforms, regular meals, and study material. So far, Tiger Watch has convinced the families of 20 boys to join the program.
